Love is timeless
The world has changed in the last century. Adaline has not.
Goofs:
Continuity
When Ellis is on the phone and Adaline takes his cup of whiskey, the camera goes back to Ellis after Adaline walks out. An extra glass appears on the table.

Factual Mistake
A defibrillator is not used in cases of cardiac arrest, since it does not cause the heart to start beating. It briefly stops a heart that is ineffectually quivering (fibrillating), in order that the natural rhythm can have a chance to be re-established.

Factual Mistake
There is no such thing as "volts of electricity" (such as was said to be applied to Adaline's body) as a measure of transferred energy. Electricity is electric charge or electric current (the transfer of charge). The strength of the electric field is measured in volts, but what is transferred is charge itself (and its associated energy, measured in such terms as watt-seconds or joules).

Factual Mistake
Adaline's telomeres were described as having regained flexibility after her second electrification, allowing her cells to begin aging normally again. It is not the flexibility of telomeres, but their length, that determines the survivability of a cell. Further, the electricity was applied only to a small part of Adaline's body, yet somehow all her cells were affected.

Factual Mistake
The calculations of the comet's orbit were said to have given a "mathematically perfect perigee". Not only is there nothing special ("perfect") about any given perigee point, but to have a perigee an object must be in orbit around Earth. The comet was not in such an orbit.

Revealing Mistakes
At William's house, the car he had was a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo from a mid 2000's year. When he confronted Adaline about who she was, it was evident that the car was the older model. Even when Ellis left to chase after Adaline, it was the same car. However, once he left William's house, the entire car was different in the following scenes. It was a newer model that looked completely different.
Trivia:
Adaline's ringtone on her cellphone is that of an old-time telephone.

This is the second time Michiel Huisman played a character named Ellis. The first time being when he starred in World War Z (2013).

Anthony Ingruber was chosen for the part of Young William because of his strong resemblance to Harrison Ford when he was young.

This is the first lead role for Michiel Huisman in an American film.

This is the second movie in which Ellen Burstyn plays a character who grows older while one of her parents remains young physically. The first is Interstellar (2014).

Natalie Portman turned down the lead role.

Blake Lively was ultimately chosen for the lead after much debate.

Katherine Heigl was set to play the lead role but dropped out to spend more time with her family.

Dame Angela Lansbury was cast to play Flemming in 2010 when Katherine Heigl was still attached to play the title role.
