Goofs:
Continuity
Right before Coffey and Bud start their fight scene at the Pool, we see close-ups of each of them. In the first close up of Bud, he has a swollen eye, but in the next one it has disappeared.

Factual Mistake
Deep Core heating system should be damaged after losing the umbilical cable. Yet when Bud emerges from the moon pool, even though he is clearly freezing as seen in the shot, his warm breath is not visible as it should be.

Revealing Mistakes
When Bud and Jammer first enter the Montana scene, a corpse floating in the foreground clearly blinks his eyes.

Crew/Equipment Visible
In the scene where the water creature is exploring the war head you can see the square reflective mylar sheet with a stick to agitate it to give the rippling light effect.
Trivia:
James Cameron's brother, Mike Cameron, plays a dead crewman inside the sunken submarine. For which he had to hold his breath under 15 feet of water while also allowing a crab to crawl out of his mouth.

The water in the two tanks was chlorinated heavily, in order to prevent microbes growing in it. This caused many of the actor's hair to become green and even white.

This film is marked as the first feature film to have used an early version of Adobe Photoshop.

James Cameron brought in several tanker trucks of natural gas, and attached them directly to burners only to heat the water in the unfinished nuclear power plant,
