This intriguing social drama revolves around Soorma Bhopali, who is the owner of a Timber mart, but is such an innocent and generous man, that his trusting and straightforward nature gets taken advantage of by opportunistic business people. Chief amongst these clever leeches is Dilwar Khan Dilwala, who happens to be the identical step-brother of Soorma, and keeps staking his claim on half of Soorma inheritance. Everybody's prime target is the jewel of his inheritance, a priceless necklace, which according to his mother's Will must be handed over to his bride. To get their hands on his necklace, some big-time smugglers recruit a stage dancer, Sitara. She comes over to Bhopal and entraps Soorma in a silken web of charming deceit. While Soorma falls hook-line-and-sinker for Sitara, and follows her to Bombay with the desire of handing over the precious necklace to her, and beg for her hand in marriage, disaster strikes. Two small-time criminals, Kaalia and Samba manage to relieve Soorma of his belongings, which includes the necklace. Will Soorma be able to retrieve the precious baggage from them? Will Soorma ever recognise Sitar for who she really is and outwit the criminals?
