Sadurangam (1978)

This family-centric drama delves into the struggles and successes in the family of a widow, with two young sons, Sunderasan and Ramkumar. The elder brother, Sunderasan is extremely conscientious and disciplined, working at a respected government establishment. His younger brother, Ramkumar is a playful and immature college student, who doesn't concentrate much of his studies. When Sunderasan's dead elder sister's husband has trouble getting his younger sister, Meenakshi married, he offers to marry her. The happy family is shaken up when a wealthy young woman, Uma reaches their home saying that she is Ramkumar's lover and must marry him. With both brothers married, problems begin to arise in the family with respect to wealth accumulation and distinction in social status. Will the family succeed in finding out their differences and successfully resolve their issues?
