A deep sea diver finds a pearl at the bottom of the sea and brings it back home. In the event of this unexpected fortune, how the people and environment around him change due to greed, is the story of this movie, which is loosely based on John Steinbeck's book 'The Pearl'.
The film is said to be the first Indian movie to be shot underwater.
For 'Ondu Muthina Kathe, Shankar Nag made extraordinary efforts to get the best of everything; he went to Canada to procure the most state-of-the-art camera, employed a German cameraman to ensure optimum quality, even got a hold of an Octopus from London, and shot underwater in Maldives!
