Junooniyat (2016)

Evocative and eloquent, this touching tale revolves around Captain Jahan Bakshi (Pulkit Samrat), a passionate army officer who loves the army and thinks all things happen according to his will and he can control his destiny.

Suhani (Yami Gautam), a Punjabi girl belonging to an army family is found swimming in an army restricted area. She is later rescued by captain Jahan without her will. She is forced to spend a day at the army camp to fulfill all the required procedures. She asks Jahan to sign the apology letter. The investigating officer invites her to a Christmas party.

After the party, they meet on a bridge. Jahan tears the apology letter so Suhani tells him to say sorry or she would jump off the bridge. Jahan doesn't pay heed so Suhani leaps. He immediately saves her. The next morning Jahan visit Suhani at hospital and gives her a signed apology letter. They begin to develop a special bond with each other.

Later, when Jahan meets Suhani in Amritsar, they begin to realise that they have fallen in love. They spend more time together on a trip, that Suhani lies to her parents about. Upon her return, her father chastises her, takes her phone away and places her under house arrest. He fears that if his daughter should marry an army man, he might die at war and she would be heartbroken. The only condition under which he is willing to consider their marriage is if Jahan leaves the army.

On impulse, Suhani decides to run away with Jahan, but reacher is the camp to witness a woman hugging him. Immediately, she begins to suspect his intentions and runs back home. Is Suhani's suspicion valid? Can Jahan find a way to convince her of his true love before it is too late?
