Inspector Amar (Amitabh Bachchan) is an honest and dedicated police officer who discovers that underworld don Brijbhan (Anupam Kher) is behind all the terrorist activities in India. He also discovers that some of his police officers in his station have been corrupted and are secretly working with Brijbhan. To help him in his battle against Brijbhan he sets out to bring together two warring gang leaders Karim (Sunny Deol) and Hari (Chunky Pandey). Karim and Hari are longtime enemies who constantly fight in gang wars because of their different religious backgrounds. Once Amar persuades them to put aside their differences and they join him, Amar and Karim team up to wage a war against corruption and terrorism, aided by Hari and others.
