The characters are completely fictional and have no basis in the real-life of Sampat Pal Devi who has formed a Gulabi Gang of her own.
This film marks as Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla's first film together. Earlier Juhi turned down a chance to work with Madhuri in 'Dil To Pagal Hai'.
