Story:
The movie starts off slowly with Ben Affleck (Nick Dunne) searching for his lost wife. The story initially begins with a parallel narrative showing the present search for the wife and the past life where the couple stayed together. The investigation begins for the lost wife and past scenes gives a clue that Ben Affleck could have murdered his wife. Ben Affleck loses interest on his wife and begins a relationship with his student secretly. The cops begin to suspect Ben Affleck and his sister. His neighbour shouts in the crowd that his wife Amy Dunne was pregnant. The life insurance form, the neighbour, the gift in a store room turns the case against him. He finds 3 clues left by his wife. He hides them and gets confused. Then the movie moves deep with the twist. The wife played by Rosamund Pike creates a trap for her husband. Her brilliance and the execution makes you hooked. She drops blood on the floor, gets a sign from her husband in life insurance form without his knowledge, tells a false story to her neighbour and she escapes from the city. She then rents a room and follows the news. To change her identity, she cuts her hair, creates a mark on her face. The husband left clueless moves the case with the help of a lawyer. He meets his wife's old boy friend and comes to know that she does anything to trap a person. Amy on the other hand loses her money and she is left thinking. Then she meets one of her old boy friend, creates a trap and kills him. She again tells a false story to the cops and joins her husband.

Performances:
Rosamund Pike delivers her best performance. Others' performances are mediocre.
Analysis:
The first 30 minutes of the movie keeps you bored and it tests your patience. After the twist the movie gets a pace and moves fast till the end. Director David Fincher does justice to the novel. He did not deviate from the story and makes a crisp screenplay. The Director could have made the initial scenes engaging which is the only drawback in the film. The background score and the camera work deserves an applause.

Final Verdict:
An engrossing tale which could have been made the best.

The plot revolves around the incident where a girl goes missing. This missing girl ( Rosamund Pike) who is a famous writer ,is the wife of another writer who is played by Ben Affleck.Soon, questions starts arising whether he has killed his wife or not.

Ben Affleck was good as the husband of missing girl Amy.Rosamund Pike was perfect for the role of ' Amazing Amy '.Role of Ben Affleck's twin sister is also worth mentioning.

Direction is not bad.Hats off for the script writer Gillian Flynn. This movie is an adaptation of Flynn's novel of the same name. Special mention for the music director. All other technical sides were good.
