'Ghulam' is a romantic movie that boldly explores many social as well as individual issues through the life of Siddharth, a petty criminal. Two brothers, Siddharth and Jai Marathe live with the disgrace being the sons of a traitor. They are forced to work for a notorious underworld Don, Ronak Singh alias Ronnie. While Jai maintains the accounts for Ronak, Siddharth is a delivery person, who excels in boxing. Due to Siddharth's aggressiveness he becomes embroiled in fights and gets routinely arrested keeping his lawyer busy. However, when Siddharth meets, befriends and falls in love with Alisha, Siddharth is inspired to change his ways and lead an honest and respectable life. Then, in a cruel twist of fate, Alisha's brother is killed by Ronak, and the only witness to this heinous crime is Siddharth. Will Siddharth have the courage to testify against Ronak, and thereby incriminate his own brother as well? Can he stand up and resist the powerful criminal and redeem himself?

Aamir Khan performed his own stunt in a scene where he had to run toward an oncoming train. It wasn't until he saw the scene in the editing room that he realized how close he had come to actually being hit by the train.

Aamir Khan didn't wash his face for 8 days in order to have the appropriate look for a scene.
