Goofs:
Continuity
The same taxi, with number 8B42, is taken multiple times in the movie, several days apart.

Continuity
At the end of the movie when Ewan McGregor's character walks to the Madrid square to meet Michelle Williams' character, in the first shot Ewan wears a white T-shirt under his green V-neck sweater and in the next shots he doesn't.

Crew/Equipment Visible
At the end where S and McQuarry split and she sits in a cab there is another cab behind the one she sits into. In that one, the car driver is holding a small digital camera pointed towards the actors.

Crew/Equipment Visible
When Hugh Jackman is playing Ewan McGregor's character and is getting out of the car in Spain, when he opens the door, you can clearly see a camera man and other people in the reflection of the door.

Errors in Geography
When Ewan McGregor's character goes to work on the day he has to transfer the money he goes into the subway station clearly marked "1" line, when he is standing on the platform with Hugh Jackman's character as the train doors open the P.A. says "next stop Park Place" - the station "Park Place" is not served by the "1" line, nor is it anywhere near the station he gets on at.

Errors in Geography
Like the goof regarding the #1 train, the #6 train shown clearly at the beginning of the film does not go to Times Square, which is where Jonathon tells S he had seen her.

Factual Mistake
External auditors are never granted any transactional access to bank accounts. There is no business need to allow such access to an auditor. Additionally, internal fraud controls would require at least two authorized personnel to complete wire transfers (known as "dual control"). One person would not be able to send wires without confirmation by another authorized person confirming the wire.
Trivia:
The first film to feature Michelle Williams and Natasha Henstridge in the same cast since "Species", where they both played younger and older versions of the same character.

Had a seven-week shoot.

The passports of both Jonathan and Wyatt, which are presented to the bank employee in Spain, show an identical date of birth. Both show the D.O.B. as Feb 23, 1974.

Earlier titles of the film included The List and The Tourist.

Despite the fact that this was filmed in high-definition video and Super 35, "Filmed in Panavision" is shown in the end credits.

The match that Ewan McGregor's character sees is a real football match between two teams from Uruguay, which took place in 2006. The teams are called "Nacional" (white blue and red shirt) and "Peñarol" (black and yellow shirt).
