Witty and wise, this socially relevant drama delightfully depicts the twists and turns in the life of Gopinath (Gopi), an honest clerk, who is content to lead a simple life. However, his ambitious wife is totally consumed by the temptation of a lavish and luxurious lifestyle.
In order to satisfy her greed, Gopinath tries to learn typing and tailoring in an effort to emulate the success of men like Johnny (Venu) and Ismail (Mammootty), who have earned a great deal of money in a short time by working in Gulf countries. However, the thirst for extravagant riches and the insatiable hunger for material possessions get him entangled in a deceptive web of lies, fraud and scandal. Will his wife realise the error of her ways and help him return to a peaceful life or will he remain a helpless puppet trying to fulfill her needs and desires forever?
