Jaspal, a senior government official is in love with Harman, a school teacher. But Harman's dad wants a son in law who holds the position of a Patwari as he believes that post has more status and power. The only way Jaspal and Harman can convince her dad is only when Jaspal is demoted to the lower position of a Patwari. But when Jaspal is accused of being unfaithful, Harman angrily agrees to marry a man of her father's choice.
