Adhyayam Onnu Muthal (1985)

This soulful romantic drama delves into the twists and turns in the life of Seetha, a beautiful young woman from a wealthy and aristocratic family. Seetha is deeply in love with Vishnu, but her father strongly opposes the union because Vishnu is from a lower caste and economic background. As a result, the strict Kesava Kuruppu forbids his daughter from continuing her relationship with Vishnu, and forces her to marry a bank employee, much against her wishes. Over a period of time, Seetha compromises with the situation and the couple understand and like each other. However, in a cruel twist of fate Seetha loses her husband in a road mishap. Kuruppu, the determined man he is, arranges her next marriage with Narayanan, a widower, who already had two children from his first marriage. Seetha is once more forced to accept her father's decree and gets married to Narayanan. She makes herself happy by spending time with Narayanan's children. Mere days into the marriage, her husband, who had apparently hidden a cardiac condition, passes away, leaving Seetha alone and vulnerable yet again. To add to her woes, she is harassed by her late husband's sister and forced to leave the home. She manages to find shelter in a maid servant's house. Her father is deeply pained by her suffering, most of which was caused by his dictatorial attitude. Will he realise the error of his ways and allow Seetha to be united with Vishnu?
