A middle-aged widower, Anand Rao lives with his son and takes care of his grandson. He meets and befriends Kalyani, a widow, who also lives with her son, and also takes care of her granddaughter. The only difference is that she's abused, oppressed and treated like a servant in her home.
In a complex sequence of events, both Anand Rao and Kalyani get humiliated and thrown out of their homes. When Anand Rao is hurt, Kalyani helps him and they decide to spend the rest of their lives together. How will society and their respective families react to their decision?
