Yamaleela (1994)

This offbeat comedy revolves around the character played by Ali, a capable and loving young man. When he hears from his mother of their Royal lineage and how they had lived a luxurious lifestyle in a grand palace before Ali's father passed away, he makes it his mission to purchase their ancestral palace in order to make his mother happy.

Deciding to fulfill his mission by hook or crook, he sets forth to accumulate wealth in order to have enough money to purchase the palace. Luckily, he discovers a magic book that can predict the future. This magical document has been misplaced by Chitragupta, the assistant of Lord Yama, the god of death. When Lord Yama and Chitragupta arrive on Earth in search of this precious book, they find it in Ali's possession. Will they successfully retrieve the book from Ali? What will Ali have to do to complete his mission?
