Trivia:
This film reunites actor Ben Whishaw and Andrew Scott, who previously played lovers in the play "Cock".

Third Bond movie featuring actor Jesper Christensen who appeared in both Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace (2008). Skyfall (2012) is the only Daniel Craig Bond film that Christensen has not appeared in.

Spectre (2015) is being released in the same 2015 year as such other big spy espionage films as Spy (2015), Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014), Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015).

Actors Ralph Fiennes (M), Rory Kinnear (Tanner) and Ben Whishaw (Q), all now Mi6 regular characters in the James Bond film franchise , have all portrayed "Hamlet" on the stage, on Broadway, The National Theatre and The Old Vic respectively.

Spectre (2015) is the first ever Bond film whose full title is an acronym - its use in the series' earlier entries in the franchise was as SPECTRE (or S.P.E.C.T.R.E). However, the earlier James Bond film, On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), has often been abbreviated by the acronym "OHMSS" (aka O.H.M.S.S).

Reportedly, actor Dave Bautista had publicly declared himself to be a big James Bond fan years prior to him being cast as henchman Mr. Hinx in Spectre (2015).

The first James Bond movie to feature snow, ice and skiing action and settings since Die Another Day (2002) and The World Is Not Enough (1999). Spectre (2015) is the first ever Daniel Craig James Bond film to feature him as the character in such icy and snowy locales.

Screenwriter John Logan was reportedly commissioned to write scripts for this movie as well as Bond 25 at the same time.

The criminal organization SPECTRE has appeared in such earlier James Bond films such as the unofficial Never Say Never Again (1983), and the official franchise films Dr. No (1962), Thunderball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967), From Russia with Love (1963), Diamonds Are Forever (1971) and On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969).

Christoph Waltz is the third Oscar winning actor to play a Bond villain. Previous two were, Christopher Walken in A View to a Kill (1985) and Javier Bardem in Skyfall (2012).

Before Christoph Waltz was cast as the villain Chiwetel Ejiofor was considered for the role.

At one point, the story outline was a well-guarded top secret - the contents known only to actor Daniel Craig, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson and a few other select personnel at EON Productions.

Reportedly, this Bond film and Bond 25 will apparently not be based on any original Ian Fleming James Bond story.

Sam Mendes and John Logan came up with the main concept for the plot together, according to former Bond screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who ended up returning to the series to do re-writes on the screenplay, because the inner sanctum of the production (the star, director and producers) were not allegedly satisfied with the script.

The first Bond film to be shot with anamorphic lenses since Die Another Day (2002), as well as director Sam Mendes' first experience shooting in the format.

Gary Oldman was approached for the role of Oberhauser, but he was unwilling to commit to six months production worldwide.

At fifty years of age, Italian actress Monica Bellucci becomes the oldest ever actress to play a leading Bond Girl role beating Honor Blackman who was thirty-seven years old when she starred in Goldfinger (1964). Bellucci was born in 1964, the same year that Goldfinger (1964) was released.

Despite Skyfall (2012) being shot entirely in digital, and rumors that Bond movies would be shot digitally from then on, this and Bond 25 will be shot on 35mm film.

This film will be Daniel Craig's fourth appearance as James Bond. Craig is also contracted for a fifth turn in Bond 25.

Lana Del Rey, Sam Smith, Rihanna, Sia, and Ed Sheeran have all been on a list of singers to sing the James Bond theme song.

The movie's early publicity poster is predominantly black with a ballistics bullet-hole mark - a subtle version of the original SPECTRE octopus in the shattering glass. This is evocative of the death of Tracy Bond, James Bond's wife, who was shot by Blofeld in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969).

Financing and distribution arrangements for this picture and Bond 25 have been frequently being reported together suggesting that development of the next two Bond films are being set up for a two-year cycle.
