Trivia:
This film marks the English-language debut of director Bong Joon-ho; approximately 80% of the film was shot in English, with the rest in Korean.

This movie was made in collaboration between the South Koreans and Americans, and is based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette.

No additional lighting was used while filming the torchlight fight scene.

The protein block was made by combining seaweed, tangle, sugar, and gelatin. Jamie Bell hated it, while Tilda Swinton liked it.
