Ambada Njane! (1985)

Spiced with modern cinematic elements, this family-oriented drama revolves around Kutty Krishnan, a sincere young man who has just received a stable job as a panchayat tax collector. Since his mother has toiled hard to educate him, and to bring him up to be a productive member of society, despite his father's death when he was just one and a half years old, Kutty Krishnan is grateful for his job. As he goes from house to house in the village, requesting people to pay their taxes, he is faced with much antagonism, as most people believe that their basic needs are not being met. In one of the houses, he meets a beautiful young woman, and falls in love with her. The crux of this tale delves into the close-knit community that Kutty Krishnan belongs to, his family members and how he grows in life, both professionally and personally.
